Description

Dimethyl sulfone (MSM) is an organic sulfide. It is widely present in various organs and tissues of the human body, such as bones, muscles, and skin. It is the raw material for synthesizing human amino acids and is also a substance necessary for synthesizing human collagen. Our human body consumes 0.5 mg of dimethyl sulfone every day to ensure the normal synthesis of amino acids and collagen in the body.

White crystalline powder, easily soluble in water, ethanol, benzene, methanol and acetone, slightly soluble in ether. Potassium permanganate cannot change color at room temperature, and strong oxidants can oxidize dimethyl sulfone into methanesulfonic acid. The aqueous solution of dimethyl sulfone is neutral.
